ROUND TABLE AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF UKRAINE

   
     

July 24, 2013 in the premises of the Diplomatic Academy at the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine held a Round table organized by ADVOCATE-CONSULTING BUREAU "EIP" jointly with the Committee on European integration of Ukraine and cooperation with the countries of the European Union of the Public Council at the Ukrainian foreign Ministry on the topic "discussion on the status of judicial reform in the human dimension: the provision of free legal aid".

This is the first roundtable of a series of roundtables to discuss the theme "Integration of Ukrainian legislation with the legal system of the European Union".
The event took: specialists in the field of law, the representative of the High specialized court of Ukraine, associate judges of district courts of Kyiv, public figures and the media, representatives of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine, heads of the Ministry of internal Affairs, head of Department of the Ministry of Justice, and representatives of the relevant Committees of the Parlament of Ukraine.
This roundtable aims to contribute to legal education and adaptation of citizens of Ukraine after the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union to the European law.
During the round table discussed the pressing issues of functioning of the system of free legal aid in the context of promotion of the legal system of Ukraine to the European standards in the protection of human rights.
The moderator, an expert and one of the speakers at the first section of the round table was Alexander Ishutin, who informed all present about the created in Ukraine the system of legal assistance guaranteed by the state, its features.

During the event, first discussed the theme: "THE EUROPEAN POLICY OF FREE SECONDARY CARE IN UKRAINE AND NEW EXPECTATIONS." Moderator: Evsyutin Alexander, acting Director of Luhansk regional center for the provision of free secondary legal aid, the Chairman of the Lugansk branch of the Association of lawyers of Ukraine", the head of the Luhansk branch of the Association of lawyers of Ukraine", the Director of Law and consulting Bureau "EMP", the head of the Supervisory Board of LLC "European Partnership", the lawyer

The speakers in this section were: head of the Department of justice the Ministry of justice of Ukraine Totsky Tatiana Nikolaevna, and practicing in the system of free secondary legal aid of the city of Kiev lawyer Voitenko Ekaterina Valerievna.

In the second section titled "ENSURING the RIGHT TO DEFENSE THROUGH FREE CARE IN THE CONTEXT OF PREPARATION FOR THE SIGNING OF THE ASSOCIATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN UKRAINE AND THE EUROPEAN UNION" the moderator was Tryna Tatiana Vitalievna - partner of the Kiev office of Advocate consulting Bureau "EMP", the referee of the European Arbitration chamber, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Public Council under the Ministry.
The speakers in this section were: Kondratyuk Vitaly Andreevich, head of the public reception office of the International Committee of protection of human rights, Andrusenko Larisa Mikhailovna - Chairman of the Board of Public organization "all-Ukrainian Association "WOMEN of INFLUENCE".
In his speech MD. Mominul Hawk - associate Professor of the Open international University of human development "Ukraine", the expert Committee of the Public Council under the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Vice-President of the International diplomatic mission of people's diplomacy "European Ukraine", raised the issue of restrictions on foreign citizens ' rights to legal assistance both paid and free nature in obtaining visas in Ukraine and when crossing the state border.
He said that the Ukrainian state does not perform its obligations to ensure international agreement in terms of freedom of movement and protection of persons in need of protection and refugees, their rights are constantly violated.
During the roundtable raised the issue of having problems with obtaining visas to Ukraine for the honest citizens of Bangladesh, Pakistan, Iran and several other countries.
Even those businessmen from these countries who freely come to the UK, USA and EU countries, due to the bureaucracy of the Ukrainian authorities are not able to visit our country for business purpose or for tourism, they are deprived of the right to any legal assistance from the Ukrainian authorities, including and free.
