1ST SOUTH-UKRAINIAN FORUM OF THE ASSOCIATION OF LAWYERS OF UKRAINE

September 4, 2015 in Odessa by Pushkin str., 15 in the conference hall of hotel "Bristol" Association of lawyers of Ukraine held the 1st South-Ukrainian forum, which was attended by judges, government representatives, heads of law firms, attorneys and lawyers.
During the forum discussed the most actual problems of enforcement in the Odessa region, as well as the most important aspects of the judicial reform and reform of the legal profession. In addition, the forum discussed practical issues of lawyers and members of the judiciary.

In

particular the following topics were discussed:

- Protection in criminal proceedings opened under article 212 of UK of Ukraine (evasion of taxes, duties (mandatory payments).

- The administrative court as a service: will take into account the expectations of lawyers in the process of development of judicial system of Ukraine.

- Judicial power: the potential for development.

- The Council of judges of Ukraine between today and tomorrow.

- The independence of judges, disciplinary proceedings, the right to access to justice
Practice Mat on the application of the law of Ukraine "On judicial system and status of judges (Alexander Prokopenko, judge of the trial chamber of administrative cases of the Supreme Court of Ukraine).

- The role of judges in protecting the rule of law and human rights in the context of terrorism (Galina kanygina, judge of the judicial chamber in criminal cases of the Supreme Court of Ukraine).

- FATA MORGANA judicial self-government (Tatiana Swarco, the judge of Economic court of the Kharkov area).

- E-court in the concept of development of state statistics Agency of Ukraine (Volodymyr Kutsenko, head of Territorial administration of the GSA in the Odessa region).

- Ukrainian seafarers on foreign flag vessels: practical aspects of protection (Yuriy Sergeyev, K. Yu.N., attorney, managing partner of Legal Bureau Sergeeva).

- The detention of ships by port captain: how to implement the law and not get sued (Andriy Selyutin, counsel, head of South Ukrainian branch of JSC "Arzinger").

Crimean theme: challenges for shipowners and seafarers (Artem Volkov, Head of APU in the Odessa region, lawyer, head of Maritime and transport law firm "ANK").

- Reform of the system of execution of court decisions: what to expect? (Moderator – Oleg Makarov,partner of JSC "LF "Vasil Kisil and partners").

- Analysis of the main provisions of the draft laws "On enforcement proceedings" and "On the bodies and persons who carry out compulsory execution of court decisions and decisions of other agencies" submitted by President to Parliament
(Ruslan Sidorovich, MP).

- Implementation of a combined system of execution of decisions by the public service modernization performers and the institution of private bailiffs.

- The balance of the rights and responsibilities of private and public by (Sergiy Shklyar, Deputy Minister of justice of Ukraine).
