Ukrainians and foreign citizens sometimes find themselves in a very problematic situation when you forget to declare the cash when crossing the customs border of Ukraine.

Cash is cash currency of Ukraine and foreign currency in cash in the form of banknotes and coins in circulation and are legal tender on the territory of the state, banknotes and coins, withdrawn from circulation or those that are removed, but can be exchanged for banknotes in circulation (except for coins from precious metals), and traveller's cheques.

A person regardless of age has the right to export from Ukraine and import to Ukraine cash and banking metals according to certain rules.

The customs Declaration is the basis for the export (import) of specified in it of cash and precious metals, and transactions on behalf of resident or non-resident within one year from the date of registration of the Declaration.

Person has right to import into Ukraine and export from Ukraine cash in an amount not exceeding the equivalent of EUR 10,000 without the written Declaration to the customs authority.

Physical person - resident has the right to import into Ukraine and export from Ukraine cash in the amount exceeding the equivalent of EUR 10,000, subject to a written Declaration of the customs authority in full and upon availability of documents confirming withdrawal of cash from Bank accounts (financial institutions), solely on the amount exceeding the equivalent of EUR 10 000. The validity of such documents is 30 calendar days from the date of issue.

Physical person - resident has the right to import to Ukraine cash in the amount exceeding the equivalent of 10 000 euros, under condition of written declaring to customs authority in full.

Physical person - resident has the right to export from Ukraine cash in the amount exceeding the equivalent of 10 000 Euro, if the cash amount exported does not exceed the amount of cash declared in writing by that person to the customs authority when importing to Ukraine. The export of cash in this case is subject to its written Declaration to the customs authority in full.

Physical person, legal person responsible for the failure to declare cash and Bank metals moved across the customs border of Ukraine, according to Ukrainian legislation. This money can be confiscated.
