A foreign document

A foreign document that can be used in Ukraine

Foreign official documents are probative force of official documents in the territory of Ukraine:

- without any additional verification if they are made in the territory of States with which Ukraine has relevant bilateral or multilateral agreements;

- under condition of their certification by apostille, if they are made in the territory of the member States of the Convention abolishing the requirement of legalization for foreign public documents, 1961;

- subject to the availability of consular legalization if they are made in the territory of States with which Ukraine does not have the above-mentioned treaties.

The list of countries with which Ukraine has bilateral (multilateral) agreements, which abolish the requirement of legalization of official documents, and in accordance with the provisions which the apostille on the documents is not required:
