THE COMPOSITION OF THE HIGH COUNCIL OF JUSTICE OF UKRAINE
The composition of the High Council of justice of Ukraine must be formed prior to April 28, 2015 this was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Interim Commission for the verification of judges of courts of General jurisdiction Markiyan Halabala.
"The High Council of justice of Ukraine is the organ, which is envisaged by the Constitution of Ukraine. To change its role in the life of the state, it is necessary to change the Constitution," said Halabala.
In his opinion, this branch of government plays a crucial role in the formation and functioning of the judicial system in the country.
"Among other things, the responsibilities include entering of the recommendation to dismiss or for appointment of judges, without which the Verkhovna Rada and President of Ukraine have no right to take any decision," said Halabala.
It should be noted that this constitutional body also carries out disciplinary proceedings, which allows you to directly control the operation of judicial bodies, their legality and compliance with the provisions of the law.
We will remind, on February 27, 2015 came into force the law "On ensuring the right to a fair trial" on the formation of the High Council of justice of Ukraine composition.
Earlier in the presidential administration stated that the High Council of justice shall be formed within 60 days.
