The new law enforcement body - the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine in accordance with the tasks assigned to it is called to carry out:

1) operative-investigative activity and pre-trial investigation within the framework of the investigation provided by law;

2) information-search and analytical-information work for the purpose of revealing and elimination of the reasons and conditions promoting commission of the criminal offenses carried under investigation of Bureau of economic safety of Ukraine;

3) information interaction with state authorities, local self-government bodies, judicial authorities, other state bodies, enterprises, institutions and organizations, competent bodies of foreign states and international organizations;

4) search for persons hiding from the bodies of pre-trial investigation, investigating judge, court or evading serving a criminal sentence for the commission of criminal offenses referred by law to its investigation;

5) collection, processing and analysis of information on criminal offenses referred to its jurisdiction;

6) involvement within the competence in the manner prescribed by law, including on a contractual basis, of qualified specialists and experts, including foreigners;

7) international cooperation with the competent authorities of foreign states on the basis of laws and international treaties of Ukraine;

8) providing work on training, retraining and advanced training of employees of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine;

9) the formation of analytical materials for the assessment of threats and risks of committing (increasing the number) of criminal offenses referred by law to its jurisdiction;

10) request and receipt in the order established by the law from law enforcement and state bodies, local governments, the enterprises, establishments, the organizations the information necessary for performance of powers of Bureau of economic safety of Ukraine;

11) initiating in the competent authorities of foreign states consideration of cases on protection of the rights and interests of the state on issues within the responsibilities of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine, acts as a representative of the state in the consideration of such cases. If necessary, the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine has the right to involve experts in such areas in such consideration;

12) adoption of normative legal acts on issues within the competence of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine;

13) report on its activities in the manner prescribed by this Law and inform the company about the results of its work;

14) conclusion of international agreements of interdepartmental character with the corresponding bodies of foreign states;

15) in cases specified by law, proceedings in cases of administrative offenses, decides on the application of administrative penalties;

16) the use of overt and covert full-time and part-time employees on the grounds and in the manner prescribed by law, observing the conditions of voluntariness and confidentiality of such relations, materially and morally encourages persons assisting in the prevention, detection, suppression and investigation of criminal offenses economic security of Ukraine;

17) conclusion of agreements of responsible storage with the enterprises, establishments, the organizations for the purpose of storage of the material evidences withdrawn during pre-judicial investigation, demanding special conditions of storage;

18) other powers provided by the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the relevant Law and other laws of Ukraine.
Persons who have special titles of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine, except for employees of the information-analytical unit, in the implementation of measures to prevent, detect, suppress, investigate criminal offenses under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine, authorized within their competence to apply police measures Articles 32-34, paragraphs 3, 5 of part one, parts two and three of Article 35, Articles 36 and 37, paragraph 2 of part one and part three of Article 38, paragraph 1 of part one of Article 40, Articles 42-46 of the Law of Ukraine "On National police ", on the grounds and in the manner prescribed by law.
